FLITE All Set For A Big July Full Of Tournament Action Beginning In Bellevue, Washington
Following a successful showing at the Northwest Premier Invitational, FLITE is ready to take off again this July with loaded rosters ready to impress. In particular, the 17U squad is stacked with 2019 talent in which Prep Hoops Idaho has ranked throughout our 2019 list.
Entering the July circuit, which has kicked off this weekend, FLITE took home a spring championship at the NPI, arguably the top showcase in the entire state of Idaho. Loads of talent play at NPI and to take home the hardware from such a showcase had to give this current 17U FLITE team confidence for this July period.
On the plate for FLITE this July is first, the Premier Showcase in Bellevue, Washington. FLITE is taking part in the excellent showcase with tons of regional talent this weekend followed by two other tournaments to round out the action this jam packed grassroots month. FLITE will also play in the Premier Summer Championship in Salem, Oregon and then end the July period at the Bigfoot Las Vegas Classic, in Las Vegas, Nevada. A truly impressive list of tournaments which will help the roster below grow their game even more against fields full of skilled players.
The FLITE 17U roster has Idaho talents such as Amoro Lado, Vallivue, Cole Alton, Boise, Andy Ford, Timberline, Jared Adams, Mountain Home, Ryan Ball, Twin Falls, and Winston Duggan, Twin Falls.
Amoro Lado, earned First Team All 4A SIC honors last season including being named Basketball Athlete of the Year by the Idaho Press Tribune. A multi-skilled player who is extremely dangerous when he’s putting the ball on the floor and driving to the hoop. Also, a threat from outside too so he can really stretch defenses. Cole Alton was a supreme talent for a very impressive Boise High team last season and was counted on often to contribute and be relied upon. Alton earned Second Team All 5A SIC honors. A guard who can benefit all who play around him.
In addition to the aforementioned Lado and Alton is Andy Ford, another Treasure Valley standout who took home Honorable Mention All 5A SIC honors last season and was a top performer for his Timberline team. Adding to the Treasure Valley trio are Jared Adams of Mountain Home who was a double-double threat this past prep season and led him to Second Team 4A SIC honors.
Ryan Ball and Winston Duggan also round out the group and both play their prep ball for Twin Falls, a team with excellent talent and will be a force this upcoming season. At the state tournament they took home the consolation trophy and surely will be back for more.
This group will be one to watch this July period, so keep tabs on these rising prospects come tournament time.
