Five Freshman To Watch This Fall
Trinity Christian Guard Freddie Dillone: As we all know it seems as if Trinity Christian has a high major prospect or two just about every single year, and Freddie is next up. He played sparingly last season but took the time to learn a lot and has come back this season looking to do damage, he can score the ball at a nice level and has grown some more height wise. Don’t be shocked to see him pick up some early offers and to have D1 programs dropping in to see him.
Southern Lee Guard Jamari McDougald: You don’t have to watch him for a very long to see time to see that he watches Trae Young just off of the way he approaches the game. His ability to beat his defender off the dribble and score by using the quick floater as well as stepping back and shooting the deep ball are all things that he does well.
Riverside HS G/F Avion Pinner: Has a nice natural feel for the game already at such a young age, when you add that in with his size ,and the fact that he’s going to play under a coach like Bobby Williams at Riverside, then you have to be excited.
Trinity Christian Guard Cam Oates: Another player at Trinity that will see an increased role, he’s not the tallest player that you will see but he has some quickness, is crafty and can score the ball. We were introduced to him last year during the annual Trinity Christian College day workout and he impressed with how well he competed against players 3 to 4 years older than him.
Durham Academy Guard MJ Rice: Anytime you have a player with height, strength and skillset, then you have to be intrigued about what he possibly can be. He put together some impressive showings on the Adidas circuit this year as well as in the Triangle Challenge Summer League event. Be on the lookout for him to do some major things this upcoming season for DA and don’t be surprised to see some D1 programs dropping in.
