Explosive Players On The 4th Of July

It’s the 4th Of July and fireworks are about to be lit. We often correlate this holiday to bright lights and explosions. Here in Michigan, we are lucky to have many prep basketball players with explosive talents and overall games. Let’s take a look at some of the players that have games reminiscent of the 4th Of July.

Nigel Colvin (2019, G, River Rouge, Greenwood Elite)

Colvin is a special kind of explosive. He lets his defense do the talking. Colvin is a constant threat to force a turnover and is a defensive stopper. He can electrify crowds with a quick turnovers and key man-to-man defensive stops.

Dylan Jergens (2019, PG, Howardsville Christian, Strictly Skills)

Jergens can make a scoreboard blow up like fireworks. He is one of the best shooters in Michigan. Jergens can score from anywhere on the court and can do it in bunches. Don’t blink when you watch him, because he’s a threat to score 30 points every game.

Carrington McCaskill (2019, F, Detroit Renaissance, REACH)

McCaskill is a high flying athlete. He can simply soar off the ground and make plays. McCaskill plays above the rim on both ends of the court. He’s an excellent shot blocker who can get the crowd on its feet with his rim protection. McCaskill has crowds standing in anticipation when he’s attacking the rim or running the wing in transition.

Carlos Johnson (2020, F, Benton Harbor, The Family)

Johnson is like a one man firework show. He just does everything at an elite level. Johnson will fill the stat sheet every time he steps on the court. He rebounds like an elite big man, matches up defensively against multiple positions, and passes like a point guard.

Steve Pearson (2020, SG, Henry Ford, Michigan Playmakers)

Pearson is a highlight reel waiting to happen. He has some of the strongest legs you will see, and they help him absolutely launch into the air. Pearson is an elite finisher and plays above the rim. He has a quick first step and an assortment of eye popping finishing dunks.

Jalen Terry (2020, PG, Flint Beecher, The Family)

Terry is as explosive of a point guard as you’ll see anywhere. He is fast and elusive when going to the rim and can make showtime passes into small spaces. Terry plays above the rim and can throw down a vicious dunk when finishing.
