Colorado Mayhem Players to Watch during the July Evaluation Period
The July evaluation period is here and this is a time that’s meaningful as college coaches are still looking for prospects to add to their roster for the future. For players, it’s a time to make a name for themselves. Here’s who to watch from the Colorado Mayhem organization based on a great Spring.
Kevin DiMarco: Class of 2019
Kevin made a name for himself in the Spring period and one who really stood out as he’s a player that wasn’t particularly known coming from the Western slope and is not not only fitting in, but standing out. He’s keeping up with the faster pace than he’s used to and he’s dominated the glass and controlled the paint. He’s a player that was questioned how he’d look with better competition and he’s silenced all doubts with his play. Expect him to be a name that not only has seen his stock rise, but is showing that he’s a name that belongs in one of the top players in the class.
Austin Holt: Class of 2019
Austin could just very well be the best all around defender in the state as he’s a player that can guard 1-5. Its refreshing to see a player of his size to be able to defend smaller guards with great footwork, but have the strength to also battle inside. He does the small things that propel a program from being good to great. He does a little bit of everything and is a player that’ll pan out at the next level. This is a player that coaches will gravitate towards real soon.
Thurbil Bile: Class of 2019
Thurbil is a game changer as he can get it done on both sides of the ball. On defense he’s a player that truly controls the paint and guards in the post as an above average rim protected. He is a capable scorer who is only getting better down there and rebounds at a high level as well with length and athleticism. In a solid system, he’ll excel.
Bryson Stephens: Class of 2020
Bryson is a bucket. He’s a high level scorer that’s been challenged to not take plays off on the defensive end and he’s stepped up to the plate and is breaking his all and you can see it translating to a better all around game in the Spring. Bryson is a player that shows that he can score at all three levels and that only opens things up for him and his teammates as he spaces the floor. If the team needs a basket, Bryson can be trusted.
David Brophy: Class of 2020
David is one of those players that’s often overlooked as his impact on the game is in all of those intangible things you don’t notice. He’s diving on the floor, making the extra pass, he’s chasing down defenders and is willing to put his body out there to set up for charge. He’s only 6-foot-2 but is one of the best rebounders in the class that nobody is talking about. In both games I seen him in in the Spring session he had over 10+ rebounds. Him staying under the radar will change soon as he’s truly a coaches dream.
