Ciaran Brayboy to Harvard
The top ranked 2019 center in the state of Illinois has made his college decision. New Trier post Ciaran Brayboy has committed to Harvard. Commitment was confirmed by his travel team coach Mike Mullins with the Illinois Wolves. The big man garnered looks from a variety of schools, but it always looked like the academic programs were going to have the edge. Brayboy told us why Harvard was his choice.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to play at Harvard. Coach Amaker and the rest of the coaching staff are great and I appreciate how they have come to games and practices over this past year. I am grateful to the other college coaches who have recruited me. I am looking forward to contributing a strong defense and athleticism to the team.”
The big man has broad shoulders, strength to anchor down low, and is a solid rebounder. Offensively he has some skill on the block especially when he garners deep post position before catching the ball. Plays physical down low. He is currently the #12 overall prospect in the class and top ranked center.
Throughout the process he landed offers from Dartmouth, Ohio, Toledo, Rice, Bucknell, Ball State, Wofford, Brown, DePaul, Columbia, UW-Milwaukee, Southern Illinois, and Yale. Brayboy will now focus on competing with the Wolves during the July evaluation period.
