Big Shots CLT: Class of 2021 Standouts
Team CLT 2021 Guard AJ Smith: A lot to like about AJ, at such a young age he’s advanced in several areas of game and all were on display throughout the event. His size for a player at the PG is a positive, he’s 6’3 and showed that he has some strength to him, he will be one that will only add to his stock as time goes on and he continues to play well.
DTA Elite 2021 Forward Omarion Bodrick: He’s listed at 6’5 but seems a bit taller than that at the 6’6-6’7 type range. There is a good amount of upside and potential in him as he long, bouncy and has a good feel for the game. Over the next few years if he continues to work, he could develop into a special and player and prospect.
WCBA 2021 Wing Harper Strickland: We got our first chance to see Harper a few years back at the Elite 50 Middle school event. He has good size and upside for a wing prospect and is already showing the ability to score the ball in multiple ways, one to keep an eye on the rest of July and into his high school season.
Flight 22 (Fayetteville) 2021 Guard Zy McLean: Slowly but surely he is coming into his own as a player, he has improved consistently over the summer and playing with more confidence. He’s knocking down shots but also displaying his IQ for the game by setting up teammates, good upside and one to keep an eye on.
Flight 22 2021 Guard Demario Norris: His end to end speed is something that you notice immediately, with a player that is smaller in height, you always like to see them have a nice amount of speed. The other attribute that we like about him is his toughness, he doesn’t back down from a challenge and brings effort each time he steps on the floor.
Garner Road 2021 Forward Redford Dunton: Has good height at 6’6, although he is still learning and figuring out what position will suit him best, there were a lot of things about him to like. Rebounding, finishing and confidence are all things that we saw from him early and often in their matchup with Richmond Squires.
