Prep Hoops takes a look at some youngsters from the Palmetto State we happened to see this weekend from Big Shots 2 : Myrtle Beach.

Kyle Watkins (2021) – Carolina Forest HS – Big Shots South Carolina 2021 (#3 pictured on front)

Watkins helped Big Shots South Carolina 2021 win the 15U bracket this weekend. Watkins a point guard saw good minutes last season at Carolina Forest HS. Watkins has the ability to get the ball into gaps and can make open shots on the floor. Watkins is a pass first point guard who really sees the the floor well. Watkins plays very under-control and mature on the floor.

James “JJ” Jones (2021) – Socastee HS – Big Shots South Carolina 2021 (#5 pictured on front)

Jones has been on a terror the past 3 weeks on the basketball circuit. Jones really broke out at the Coastal Carolina Elite Camp and it carried over to the Carvers Bay Summer League. Jones plays with GREAT ENERGY on the floor. Jones does all of his work running the floor and playing around the basket. Jones took several charges this weekend I actually lost count. Jones is suppose to be a even stellar football player as a defensive back. Jones averaged 21 ppg this weekend for the Orange.

Big Shots South Carolina 2021 has won back to back tourneys now over the past 2 weeks at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center. Big Shots South Carolina 2021 won the NTBA National Championship with a (8-0) record.

Carlton Terry Jr. #4

Carlton Terry Jr. (2022) – Conway HS – Team Wall Southeast-Marion 2022

Terry Jr. is the son of Conway HS Football Coach Carlton Terry. Terry Jr. plays the game very smart while on the floor. Terry Jr. never seems to rush shots or decisions. Terry Jr. has a good stroke from he perimeter while extending to the three point line. Terry Jr. played last season at Whittemore Park M.S.

Dashawn Sims

Dashawn Sims (2020) – Cane Bay HS (Summerville) – Low Country Elite

Sims was a pleasant surprise here today in the last game of the day for Prep Hoops. Sims 5’5 showed some shakes-bakes with the ball in his hands. Sims was extremely quick from one end of the floor to the other end. Sims played with a fearless attitude and grit. Sims scored 14 points in the game and played very mature beyond his years.
