Big Shots 2 : 2019-2020 Palmetto Performers
Prep Hoops took in he action from the Big Shots 2 event in Myrtle Beach, SC this past weekend. Lets take a look at some of the 2019-2020 Palmetto Top Performers.
Nick Paul (2019) – Newberry HS – Lake Murray Flight
Paul 6’6 plays in the post for the Lake Murray Flight. Paul can step-out and play face-up at times. Paul a below the rim guy seems to be a better fit in a half court style of play. Paul averaged 10.9 ppg and 10.1 rebounds last season for the Bulldogs.
Mark Mazyck (2019) – Summerville HS – Hardwood Warriors (pictured on front)
Mazyck 6’4 plays extremely active all over the floor. Mazyck is a bit of a tweener on the hardwood with no true position. Mazyck was no where to be found this summer playing with the Green Wave when Prep Hoops was in attendance watching them play. Mazyck averaged 12.2 ppg last season for the Green Wave.
Carrele Cooper (2020) – Andrews HS – Manzer
Cooper seems to be figuring things out each time he hits the floor. Cooper has started to play both ends of the floor more consistently with effort. Cooper played really well today vs Lacrosse (WI) Elevate and finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds in the 47-44 win.
Zay Chalmers (2020) – Newberry HS – Lake Murray Flight
Chalmers is the Quarterback on the football team for the Bulldogs. Chalmers is extremely vocal on the floor. Chalmers 6’3 really likes to play on the ball like a ball hawk. Chalmers is a bit of a streaky shooter but can extend out to 3 point range from time to time.
Darjawuan Brown (2020) – North Charleston HS – Low Country Elite
Brown had a great season and averaged 19.5 ppg for the Cougars. Brown 5’11 finds ways to score the ball from all 3 levels. Brown really excels in the open floor and up-tempo style of play.
I planned on watching Big Shots South Carolina 2019 on Sunday but they decided not to show up and play in there game as they had forfeited.
