A look at Mid-Missouri prospects
There is some impressive talent putting in work in Mid-Missouri. As the July evaluation period fast approaches, Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a dozen of the top prospects in Mid-Missouri that we will be watching.
2019
Isiaih Mosley 6’6″ Rock Bridge (MoKan Elite 17U)
The talented wing is set for a big July with MoKan in the upcoming Nike EYBL Peach Jam. He shot the ball well during the EYBL regular season and can score at all three levels. He is also primed to lead the Bruins to a run at a Class 5 state championship in 2019.
Dajuan Harris 6’2″ Rock Bridge (MoKan Elite 17U)
The talented point guards is one of the most athletic and unselfish players on the EYBL circuit. His assist-to-turnover ratio in league play was among the best. He is one of the best in the state at getting to the basket and finishing at the rim.
Jamonta Black 6’4″ Rock Bridge (MO Team Carroll 17U)
The smooth shooting guard is already off the board as he has given a verbal commitment to Missouri State and new coach Dana Ford. He combines good size, athleticism and the ability to get buckets at all three levels.
Ben Cooper 6’2″ Helias (Gateway Basketball Club 17U)
The talented combo guard enjoyed an excellent month of June with his high school squad on the team camp circuit. Not only did he shoot the ball well from 3-point range, but he also displayed scoring prowess all over the court.
Sam Stichnote 6’3″ Southern Boone (TEM Select 17U)
An all-purpose performer, Stichnote can play many different roles with his size, athleticism and high basketball IQ. He attacks the basket well and is an excellent rebounder.
Luke Hicks 6’2″ Hallsville (TEM Select 17U)
The talented combo guard is one of the most gifted perimeter shooters in Mid-Missouri. He can knock down jumpers off the catch and off the dribble. He is also a solid ball handler and passer who will carry a big offensive load for Hallsville in ’19.
Savion Thorpe 6’2″ Moberly
A very nice shooting guard who averaged 18 points a game as a junior, Thorpe is a versatile scoring threat who can put it on the floor and score while having solid success from 3-point range.
2020
Coban Porter 6’3″ Father Tolton (MoKan Elite 16U)
The third talented Porter brother has cut his own niche as an excellent player as a talented wing. He is a very good shot maker and ball handler who does a nice job of creating his own offense off the dribble.
Maricus Grant 6’2″ Battle (Marcus Denmon Elite 16U)
A talented lead guard who is one of the best defensive players around with his on-ball hounding and off-ball work in the passing lanes. He is a tough finisher in the paint with his ability to attack the basket.
Marcus Anthony 6’2″ Helias (MO Team Carroll 16U)
A fine all-around young guard with excellent athleticism and good offensive ability, Anthony becomes a fine addition to Team Carroll’s 16U team for the month of July.
2021
Xavier Sykes 5’7″ Helias (MO Team Carroll 16U)
The little man who has already proven to be a big bucket-getter at the high school and grassroots level. He has more than held his own while playing up with the 16Us with his scoring and facilitating.
Cachao Gianquinto 6’3″ Battle (MO Team Carroll 15U)
Talented young shooting guard who stepped in right away and made an immediate impact on a Class 5 district championship team. He has good size and a nice stroke from 3-point range.
