5 Players to Watch in the 2018-2019 Season (Class of 2021)
As the season quickly approaches, it is smart to recognize all of the great talent that you need to see in the 2018-2019 season. Here is the list of 5 players you need to watch in the Class of 2021:
Favorites:
DaRon Holmes (Millennium) – Holmes stands at 6’8 but plays a lot more like a SF. Every part of his game is very solid and I expect him to have a huge year. Holmes should have a great season gaining more college interest and should easily average a double-double.
D’Marco Dunn (Marana) – Dunn is one of the best scorers in the Class of 2021. He already had the ability to get to the basket and finish with ease, but now he has added a nice mid-range jumper and three ball to his arsenal. These improvements should allow Dunn to have a break out year.
Ty Ty Washington (Cesar Chavez) – Washington is a very tall shooting guard, which allows him to shoot over smaller defenders. He is a strong candidate for best shooter in the Class of 2021. Last season, he averaged 15.2 points per game. I fully expect him to raise these numbers to the low to mid 20’s.
Jason Elder (Cienaga) – Elder is one of the best athletes I have ever seen. Elder is 6’6 but plays SG/SF and has the ability to run the point. Elder’s size, speed, and athleticism makes him a nightmare on the break. Look for this young man to have a huge year.
Sleeper:
Matur Dhal (Paradise) – I believe Dhal is ready to make a jump in his game. Dhal is extremely raw but has a ton of potential. Dhal is 6’10 and uses that size to contest at the rim and grab a ton of rebounds. Offensively, he is limited to the paint, usually off of quick open looks. However, if Dhal improves offensively, he will have a great year and will gain a lot of college interest.
