16U Stock Risers at MHP
Get a look at the players that impressed in the 16U bracket at MHP!
Shon Robinson 2020 Jamal Murray Elite Forward
Robinson put on a show at the MHP event this weekend. He was one of if not the most talented players I saw all weekend long. Robinson blocked shots left and right on defense. He was super active on the court somehow always ending up around the basketball. Robinson is super athletic, which not only translated to blocks also huge monster dunks. The most surprising part to his game was how well he shot the ball from the outside. He has a great shooting stroke. Robinson is a lock for the High Major Division I level.
Christian Cook 2020 Team Buddy Buckets Wing
Cook has turned into a certified killer with Team Buddy Buckets this summer. The dawg mentality has allowed Cook to take over on the court. He drives to the bucket so smooth and will surprise teams with a dunk to the face if they are not careful. Cook has always been known as a shooter with deep range. He is able to score it well from the outside still. What has added so much to his game is the new found motor and the hard tough drives to the hoop. Cook has turned himself into one of the fastest rising talents in Oklahoma.
Dayten Holman 2020 Oklahoma Run PWP Point Guard
Holman is an exciting talent out of Norman, Oklahoma. The athleticism at 6’6 is what catches the eye first for most. What has captivated me since watching Holman play for the first time is the intelligence he brings to the floor. The passing skills of Holman are off the charts allowing him to elevate each of teammates. In the last year, Holman has improved the most glaring weakness of his game his jumper. The strides he has made would lead one to believe with continued work he could be a serviceable three-point shooter. Holman will never be a deadeye shooter, but he does not need to be with the great skill set he possesses. In my opinion, Holman is the best in the state at driving to the basket and finishing. The height, athleticism, and other intangibles Holman has made him easily the second best 2020 Oklahoma prospect behind Bryce Thompson. Holman is a High Major talent set to make waves for years to come.
MJ Warrior 2020 BTR Point Guard
Warrior is making big strides at the Point Guard spot with BTR. He did a great job of getting to the basket using his great quickness off the dribble. Warrior has also improved his three-point shot scoring the basketball more consistently. Warrior burst onto the scene as a good passer that can distribute with the best of them. He is a prospect to keep an eye on his development over the next year.
Ethan Scott 2022 Team Buddy Buckets Point Guard
Scott is a player I have slowly but surely come around to completely buying into this summer. He is a scoring talent by using his three-point shot. The efficiency of his jumper is off the charts. Scott also is starting to improve the ball handling side to his game. As his ball handling improves Scott will turn into a force to be reckoned with on the offensive end. Size will always be a question mark, but one Scott will erase over time. He is going to be one of the biggest impacts at the high school level in Oklahoma for Westmoore next season.
