Wofford Team Camp Notes
The Mike Young Team Camp was held this past week and featured over 100 teams at the new Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium and surrounding gym across Spartanburg, South Carolina. Wofford plays in the Southern Conference and finished this past season with a record of 21-13 including a win over ranked North Carolina away from home.
Here is a rundown of the top players from the event.
Top Players
Impressed with Shamarcus Brown of Bearden HS (Knoxville, TN) at Mike Young Team Camp He does the little things; plays hard every possession; and bottom line is he can score it.
With Drew Pember, Tennessee grabs a local combo forward that can step out and shoot the mid-range/3-Point shot with a soft touch outside and inside. At the end of the day it’s a win-win for Vols. He’s a 6’9 shooter from Bearden HS just down the road.
2019 F Khydarius Smith of Nations Ford (SC) is a big time rebounder; goes up and grabs ball with both hands; Smooth lefty with a soft touch; nice footwork; skilled; can hit the mid-range jumper.
Only a few coaches have agreed with me that 2019 F Ren Dyer is a legitimate D1 prospect. Excels at playing hard; athletic; runs the floor and does a great job of finishing with contact; has improved his outside shot; strong upper body; scored 38 this week against Spartanburg HS.
Zeb Graham of Nations Ford (SC) is a Finisher with a good handle; good defender; can take defenders off the dribble; smooth scorer.
Trent Stephney was the second part of the 1-2 punch in the backcourt for Bearden HS (TN) today at Mike YoungTeam Camp. Another skilled guard that is a strong defender to@compliment.
Really liked 2019 guard Ques Glover of Bearden (TN). Skilled playmaker that is a strong defender. Kid is a winner and is tough.
