What’s Going On? Recruiting News and Updates
Northwood Temple Junior Guard Josh Nickelberry has decided to take to his talents to the University of Louisville. We got our first chance at seeing him play years ago when he was starting varsity as an 8th grader, his game has grown as well as him growing physically. His commitment gives the Cardinals a very nice start for the 2019 class under the direction of their new leadership.
Trinity Christian Junior Forward Greg Gantt has cut his list down to 9 with the following schools remaining: Texas, Florida, Clemson, Pitt, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Vanderbilt and Providence. Gantt has seen his recruitment blow up over the last months and will look to have a bigtime senior season for the Crusaders.
Trinity Christian Guard/Forward Audiese Toney made his commitment to Pitt this weekend and also made the decision to reclassify up into the 2018 Class. Toney has the size, skill and versatility that will give him a chance to be special and do some nice things at Pitt under Coach Capel.
Northside HS (Jax) Senior Demetrius Jones made his decision to attend Charleston Southern University for football, he was being recruited by man programs to play college basketball but decided to take his talents to the gridiron.
NC Guards Coby White & Jalen Lecque both still remain in the hunt for spot at USA Basketball after the roster was trimmed down to 18. It has been reported that White, the #1 prospect for 2018 in the state, has been one of the best player in the camp.
Holly Springs Guard Erik Alvey has decided to do a year of Prep School at Meet level Prep in Wichita, Kansas, which will place him in the 2019 recruiting class. Alvey had a solid season at Holly Springs and picked up a nice amount of JC interest but will take this year to continue to round out his game.
Westover HS Forward/Center Edmund ‘‘ Kenny’’ Scott has signed with Pitt CC, Scott is still somewhat raw but has a nice amount of upside and could be a player that comes along nicely as long as he continues to work hard.
