The White House Blue Devils plan on making an enormous splash in 2018-2019. Leading the deep team in scoring will certainly be 2019 combo guard Jared Ward (PrepHoopsTN #87). Last season Jared scored 21.5 ppg for the Blue Devils. Jared Ward fluttered in a wonderful 78 three-pointers during his junior season.
Jared Ward pulled down an astonishing 5.4 rebounds per game, an astonishing figure for a shorter guard. Did any college coaches notice? Will he be camping or visiting any colleges this summer now that his schooling is on summer break?
Numerous college programs invited Jared Ward (White House) to their elite individual camp.
Arkansas Tech University, Queen University of Charlotte, Lincoln Memorial and Catawba University all extended camp invitations to Ward. He could also camp with University of Central Missouri, University of West Georgia, Newberry College, Truett McConell University.
The NAIA institutions represent a decent option. Truett McConnell (NAIA)
Jared Ward will certainly get DII offers too. Many DII teams in the South Atlantic Conference (pictured below left) are certainly intrigued. Lenoir-Ryne aggressively recruited Tennessee’s 2018 class. They are not in on Jared Ward yet, but LMU, Newberry, and Catawba want him to camp.
Lee hosted Jared for an unofficial visit within the last year. The Division II team typically features a roster composed of 56+% Tennessee players. Would Jared Ward be a prospect that Flames Head Coach Bubba Smith would offer?
“I talk to Lee and Delta State coaches a lot over text,” said Jared Ward.
In addition to Lee and Delta State, Covenant College (DIII) texts back and forth with Jared Ward.
The White House team camped with both Lipscomb University and Lee University. They cobbled together a strong unit of broadly skilled players once again. Jared Ward is hardly the only player capable of scoring. Durstin Adams and Jacob McDonald give him nice complimentary figures.
