Recruiting Report: Micah Thomas (2019)
This spring Micah Thomas captured the coveted Gold Ball in Class 6A helping the PC North Panthers to their first-ever basketball title. The recruitment of Thomas is picking up following his spring with Oklahoma Run PWP on the grassroots circuit. In the last week, Kent State and UAB have pulled the trigger offering Thomas. ORU, Missouri State, and Tulsa have also offered him. There are a few other schools that are reaching out to Thomas.
“I’ve been getting contacted by Miami Ohio, Kent State, Creighton, UAB, Tulsa, Missouri State, Missouri, ORU, Nebraska Omaha and Southeast Missouri State,” said Thomas.
Thomas is a steady hand at Point Guard. Coaches know they can trust him to make the right decisions with the reigns in his hands. The ability of Thomas to make others better around him has the 5’10 Point Guard rising. Thomas has high goals for his summer.
“My goal is to improve in being more of a vocal leader,” said Thomas. “Also to improve on the physical part of my game.”
As for what Thomas is looking in a college there are multiple things he has his eye on. One thing is for sure, Thomas will have options.
“I’m looking for a home,” said Thomas. “A place that fits my style of play as well as a place where I can get a good degree.”
Thomas will be able to provide a college program with scoring, seeing the entire floor, getting the ball where it needs to go and pesky defense. The areas Thomas is working on to improve are the biggest things colleges are looking for to take his game to the next level. Thomas has the opportunity to add to his recruitment with a great showing in July.
