Recruiting Report: Maurion Scott (2019)
Homewood Flossmoor Maurion Scott made his debut with Young & Reckless in the second half of the spring and the wing showed some promising tools! This lengthy wing has some projectability. He gets loose for quite a few transition finishes. Capable shooter off the catch. Worth monitoring at the D2 level.
Scott chatted with PHI about his junior year at HF!
“My high school season went well. It didn’t end on the note that we wanted it too. Next year we are going to come back strong because we return our starting five. Lost just a couple seniors. I think I played pretty well. I could be more aggressive sometimes. I feel I led the team well and I have to play my role.”
What are the best parts of his game that translate to college?
“I feel like I can bring a lot of versatility on the defensive side. I can shoot well and I can post up too. Versatile player.”
He has heard from several D2 programs.
“I have heard from University of Illinois-Springfield, Quincy, Ohio Dominican, and Grinnell.”
