Recruiting Report: Maleeck Harden (2019)
Moorhead wing Maleeck Harden has been one of the top stock risers of the 17u season and he saw the improvement of his game get rewarded recently with an offer from USF. Harden is playing with the ECI Prospects and will have several schools watching this summer.
The offer from Sioux Falls was rewarding for Maleeck.
“It’s very exciting and just the beginning and if I continue to work hard there will be more to come,” Maleeck said.
“I’ve talked to Minnesota State-Moorhead, U of Mary, Bemidji State, Jamestown, and getting some looks by Southwest Minnesota State, Sioux Falls, North Dakota State, and some more.”
Harden and the ECI Prospects had a busy May playing in three SPTS events and hosting their own tournament. This weekend they played in the Great Plains Alliance in St. Cloud, Minnesota. What has been memorable for Harden so far this year?
“A big moment was a poster dunk at our ECI tournament in Davies and ending up winning the event,” Harden said. “For ECI we expect nothing more than to just get better and hopefully win some of our next tournaments.”
Moorhead lost 17 games last year but the goal is to flip the record around this winter.
Harden is in the gym every day working to make the Spuds a contender once again. It will be tough though as the Moorhead program graduated several seniors.
“We lost about six seniors so we have a young crew up and coming but will return with me and a big piece Drew Hagen,” Harden explained.
“I just want to be a bigger threat than the past three years and people have started to notice how scary of a player I can be.”
