Recruiting Report: Keenon Cole (2019)
Streamwood 2019 Keenon Cole is a rangy 6’6” bouncy four man that plays above the rim. Will definitely need to add on more strength and improve his low post game, but there is a lot to like here. He shot the ball very well hitting from three in the pick and pop at a nice clip this spring with the Illinois Wolves. Quick moves from the mid-post and in. Cole is a low-major prospect with developmental upside.
Cole spoke about playing with his new squad the Illinois Wolves this spring.
“It has gone pretty good. I am getting in a good groove with the Wolves. I like this team. They are unselfish and share the ball. It is a great fit for me. I have played good. My shot has gotten much better. More consistent with my shot. I have gotten more comfortable handling the ball. My IQ and passing has improved.”
How was his high school season at Streamwood?
“High school season went pretty well. I averaged 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. I got all-conference and all-area. We were pretty close to .500 which is good for our schools.”
Cole says that he doesn’t have any offers at this time, but several programs are showing significant interest.
“Stony Brook and North Illinois have contacted me. Southern Utah. I have been still talking to Tulsa. Kent State sends mail.”
One school is showing him a lot of love and heavily tracking him.
“I am hearing from Tulsa every day. They seem to be making me a priority.”
Cole is currently the #24 overall prospect and #3 power forward in the PHI rankings.
