Recruiting Report: Kade Peterson (2019)
A season ago, the Bemidji Lumberjacks 17-9 campaign ended abruptly with a first-round playoff exit at the hands of Detroit Lakes.
Kade Peterson averaged 9 PPG, 3.4 REB, and 2.7 AST last season and is looking to build on his solid junior year, spending a lot of his summer in the gym.
“I have been seeing improvement as I have strength and conditioning every week day and basketball workouts at night,” says Peterson, adding that “One area I have been working on since the high school season ended is my outside shooting.”
His work this summer will build on a strong foundation of existing skills. When asked, Peterson says that “My biggest strengths are my court vision, I like finding the open man, and my defense. I take pride in guarding the opposing teams best player.”
Peterson is spending his summer playing for MN Select Ellis, a team that has had an up and down summer with a 13-12 record thus far.
“The AAU season has been good so far. We are in the Sanford Pentagon Basketball League and are one of the top teams” says Peterson. He adds “I’m looking for our SBPL tournament in Sioux Falls because I expect us to win our league. I’m also looking forward to the Las Vegas event because we will see teams that we’ve never played before, it will be a huge eye opener.”
In terms of a college fit, Peterson is keeping his decision-making process simple, saying “All I am looking for in a college is a good relationship with the coaches and what feels right for me.”
Peterson has heard from a number of schools at this point, saying “I have heard from Concordia Moorhead, Concordia Nebraska, Crown, Northland, Jamestown, Central Missouri, and University of Chicago.”
