Recruiting Report: Jacob Germany (2019)
In a little over a calendar year, Jacob Germany has gone from an unknown in the state of Oklahoma to one of the biggest names in this year’s senior class. The god gifted talents of Germany are through the roof with a skilled game in the paint at 6’10. He surprises with the athleticism to go along with nice touch on his jumper. When he is locked in he can rebound and make plays on defense.
This past weekend Germany participated in the NBPA Top 100 Camp against the top players in the country in front of over 40 NBA scouts and he was coached by Tony Allen former Oklahoma State Guard that went on to play in the NBA. The experience was eye-opening for Germany. He really got going on Friday. 247 Sports National Writer Brian Snow had this to say in an article about Germany.
“At the camp, Germany has proven he belongs and has shown his impressive upside at 6-foot-10 with significant athleticism,” said Snow.
Germany is hearing from a lot of colleges. The schools that are reaching out the most include UCLA (Most recent), TCU (First offer), Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State. Purdue, Iowa State, UTSA, North Texas, Mercer, Texas State, and Missouri State.
July is going to leave Germany with options, which level will depend on his play in front of college coaches. Germany has more than just college in mind.
“I want to go to the school that can give me the greatest chances to go where I want after college,” said Germany.
The athleticism and mobility of Germany at 6’10 are his greatest skills. The biggest thing he is working on is being more physical in the paint. If Germany can get locked in during July lookout his recruitment could take off. If July goes so so the good news for Germany is he will still have a ton of options at the Low to Mid Major NCAA Division I level. The potential for Germany is there and college coaches see it.
Germany and Team Griffin will play in the Prep Hoops Finale July 6-8 in Oklahoma City, Lone Star Challenge July 12-15 in Dallas, Mullen’s High Profile Tournament July 20-22 in Wichita, and will finish in Vegas July 26-29.
