Recruiting Report: Ahamad Bynum (2021)
Simeon is going to need to reload as they lost a ton of star power with the graduation of their senior class. One of the players that will be looked toward next season to take a big role is 2021 shooting guard Ahamad Bynum. The powerful two guard has great strength and is powerful attacking the rim downhill. Playing with a high motor this spring when we saw him with the Mac Irvin Fire. Bynum has a chance to be one of the top prospects in the rising sophomore class.
With a loaded Wolverines squad Bynum played mostly on the frosh/soph team where he was the leader. How did that help him moving forward?
“It made me better being able to control my own team. Get ready for the varsity level.”
He spoke about some areas of his game that he felt have improved.
“My shot and IQ. Getting my teammates involved more.”
How is the spring going?
“It is going well. I have been playing with different teams, but I am going to stick with Mac Irvin Fire for the rest of the spring and summer.”
UIC recently jumped in with an offer. He had a prior relationship with their coaching staff.
“I like UIC. Dee Brown I have known him for a long time. He played with my uncle. He offered me.”
DePaul is another school to get in the mix early.
“I like DePaul. Tim Anderson is like family. He is recruiting me.”
