Prep Hoops takes a look at some recruiting news & notes from around the Palmetto State this past week.
DJ Burns (2018) has committed to play at the University of Tennessee for next season. Last month Burns reclassified in (2018) after starting the year in the 2019 class. Burns left-handed post player played at York Prep (Rock Hill) and ran AAU with the Georgia Stars.
Christian Brown (2019) took a official visit out to UNLV this weekend. Brown ranked #2 in the Prep Hoops 2019 Palmetto State Class plays at Lower Richland HS. Brown narrowed down to college list his last month to 7 schools. Clemson, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina State, Seton Hall and South Carolina along with the Rebels.
Trae Hannibal (2019) made a early pledge to attend the University of South Carolina after high school. Hannibal ranked #5 in the new Prep Hoops 2019 Palmetto State Class (rankings out this coming week) made the commitment via twitter on Friday. Hannibal plays at Hartsville HS.
Dallaz Corbitt (2019) plans on playing football again this season he told Prep Hoops. Corbitt 6’7 attends Gray Collegiate last played football while attending Keenan HS during his freshman season. Corbitt recently picked up interest from Coastal Carolina University and UMASS on the gridiron.
Jalen Coit (2020) picked up a football offer from Purdue University. Coit a wide receiver at Cheraw HS recorded 55 receptions and 916 yards on the gridiron. Coit a left-handed off guard has already scored over 1,000 points in 2 basketball seasons for the Braves.
Samuel Woods has signed onto play at Erskine College (SC) (NCAA D2) next season. Woods 6’8 left-handed forward averaged 9 ppg and 7 rebounds for the Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach Saints (18-10).
Uzziah Dawkins will stay in town and attend Spartanburg Methodist College next fall. Dawkins a guard averaged 16 ppg last season for the Spartanburg HS Vikings.
Kam’ron Cunningham has signed with Daytona State College for next season. Cunningham finished his high school career at JL Mann HS and played this spring during the NCAA Live Period with Upward Stars Upstate Silver 17U group.
Jonathan Breeland will do a post graduate year at Fork Union Military Academy (VA) next season. Breeland a guard helped the Blythewood HS Bengals get to the Lower State Championship Game this past season.
Zy Scott and JT Clark will both attend Columbia International University next season in Columbia, SC. Scott 6’3 played his high school career at Belton Honea Path. Clark a guard finished his high school career at Pinewood Prep after playing at nearby Woodland HS.
