Prospect Spotlight: Kobe Schriver (2021)
With still three high school seasons left to showcase himself as one of Utah’s best all-around guards, Roy’s Kobe Schriver is certainly a guy to keep a close eye on.
The 2021 Watch List member is a guy who has a some nice handles a real nice jumper, plus the ability to create for himself.
“I am a great ball handler, passer, shooter and can create my own shot. I also feel I have unlimited range behind the line,” said Schriver.
As a freshman he played with the varsity and was good. He shot the ball well and laid the foundation for what looks to be a monster career ahead.
“My freshman season was good, I started varsity and my main role was to shoot 3s and help get us into the offense. I led my team in 3s for the season,” said Schriver.
“For my sophomore season, I’m looking for more of a leadership role as a point guard and for my scoring and assist averages to jump much higher as I take on more of a main role.”
This offseason, Schriver is playing with Utah Basketball Club 15U. He’s looking forward to the summer ahead.
“Spring went great, our team did good during the spring, I averaged about 15 points and seven assists,” said Schriver, who also has been playing in team camps with the Royals of late.
“I just finished up summer ball with my high school, we attended a bunch of team camps where I had a bunch of varsity games scoring 20 plus points, my high was 29 points with nine 3 pointers.”
Schriver is still quite young for recruitment to start up, but has seen the beginning stages of the process start to materialize.
He’s got a busy summer ahead where he could see his recruitment advance.
“I will be attending Utah elite camp and Utah Valley elite camp, Elite 100 camp in California and the the Rising Stars invite in Las Vegas. I will also be going to some tournaments with UBC this summer,” Schriver said.
“This summer, I am spending more time in the weight room and working on speed and agility. I’m hoping for a big sophomore season to help with the recruiting process.”
