Prospect Spotlight: Keith Kiner (2019)
Chester 6’6” 2019 combo forward Keith Kiner has made great strides over the course of the spring. He is an angular forward that plays with a high motor and rebounds well. Defensive presence being able to guard multiple positions and can block shots on occasion. His offensive game is starting to shine through with his improved ball handling in the open floor and even showing he can shoot some from three. Small college player that will be an excellent player at that level with his athleticism and motor.
Kiner spoke about how his season went with Chester.
“We did pretty good. We went 22-9. I played well. I was more of a big man for my high school team. I worked hard down there. I liked the team and the environment.”
What does he see as his strengths as a player?
“I like to get to the basket. If I am open at the three point line I like to shoot. I like to rebound when I can.”
Right now not much going on for basketball recruiting, but he does have some football interest. Does he have a preference for playing one or the other in college?
“I want to do basketball, but if football is the key I will look at it as well. For football I have talked to SIU, Missouri Baptist, and Northwest Missouri.”
Kiner runs with the Illinois Bears 17U on the travel team circuit.
