Prospect Spotlight: Hayden Passmore (2019)
Linn-Mar has a wealth of talent, 6-foot-4 small forward Hayden Passmore is a good indicator of that.
The big and skilled wing played minimally last season with the Lions. A top-150 player in Iowa’s 2019 class, Passmore would have seen substantial minutes with most any other team in the state.
Next season, Linn-Mar will again be very good. Expect Passmore to be a key piece to its success.
“Last year I came off the bench and was more of a role player. I was there to guard some of the other team’s stronger players and score when open,” said Passmore.
“This year, I will be starting, and will have a much bigger role being my team’s best defender as well as becoming one of our top scorers.”
Passmore has been working hard this offseason to improve his skill-set, and he’s been a standout both with Iowa Barnstormers Silver and for the Lions at high school team camps.
“My offense has improved tremendously, and I’m able to keep the defense honest by hitting shots behind the 3-point line,” he said. “I’m continuing to try and improve offensively, working on my handles and shooting the ball.”
Passmore’s strong offseason has led to some recruitment starting to come his way.
“I’ve received a couple D3 interests and have gone on a visit to St. Olaf college. I’m looking for interests in D2 schools and have just started talking with Upper Iowa,” said Passmore.
The summer heading into prospects’ senor seasons are big ones for recruitment. Passmore will be busy with the ‘Stormers this July, and could see his recruitment take flight.
“We have won two of our tournaments so far, and have played very strong competition,” said Passmore. “I’m looking forward to playing in the Hardwood Classic this July in Lawrence.”
Hayden Passmore is ranked by Prep Hoops as a top 150 prospect in his class.
