Prospect Profile: Fletcher Abee (2019)
One of the top rising seniors in Western North Carolina is Freedom High School’s Fletcher Abee. The 6-foot-3 guard is spending the summer playing with Team Loaded 704 out of Charlotte and on the Adidas Gauntlet Silver Series. He is a shooter’s shooter. He can knock down the long ball at an incredible pace and is athletic. He has been getting some interest from some Big South/Southern Conference schools over the past year and should see a rise in his recruitment over the final July live period weekends.
Fletcher is first and foremost a dedicated student-athlete who leads others by setting strong examples with his effort both in the classroom and on the court. His work ethic and character in the classroom are both positive attributes to his overall character. He is a great teammate and student of the game.
Fletcher is a tough kid that competes on every possession on both ends of the floor. Fletcher is a 6’3”combo guard who can really shoot the basketball. He set the single season school record this past season, making 99 three point field goals in 27 games. Fletcher played almost exclusively at the point this past season and had an assist to turnover ratio of 3.7 to 1.
He has continued to get better at beating people off the dribble as a scorer but also as a facilitator. Additionally, he often times took on the role of defending our opponent’s best wing player. He has continued to get stronger and more athletic and that will continue to allow him the opportunity to expand his game on both ends of the floor.
