Prospect Introduction: Greg Glenn (2022)
You don’t see many 6’6″ 8th graders. But that is what Greg Glenn is right now.
The 2022 Calvary Christian guard averaged 7.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 4 APG as an 8th grader for Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian. Glenn was tasked with guarding high-major Division I prospect Scottie Barnes in a Class 5A region semifinal loss to University School this past season.
Calvary coach Cilk McSweeney says the sky is the limit for Glenn.
“He (Glenn) has a maturity about his game that makes him much better than his age. I believe he has a chance to be high major plus prospect in the next four years,” McSweeney told Prep Hoops. “He handled his own vs top teams in the country University School, the 3 times we played them.”
Glenn says his confidence grew from his very first varsity game this past season. He pointed to his ability to get to the basketball, passing and handles as his biggest strengths. He says he wants to improve his shot off the dribble, jump shot and intensity on defense.
No offers or interest have come yet for the rising freshman, but McSweeney told me that college programs love watching the kid play.
Glenn is running with Team Nightrydas this summer for the third straight year.
“I learned that we all should play as a team and give all I got and go hard and play every game like it’s my last,” he said.
Glenn has a baby face which makes you believe he is a 2022 prospect, but the maturity and intensity that he plays with is seasoned. He is on the fast track to success and the way he handles himself on and off the court will go a long way in his process. At 6’6″, 200 lbs., he has all the tools.
