Prep Hoops was in the building on Saturday for Oral Roberts Team Camp. We were not able to see every team but did scout a number of prospects at the event. Get a peek at what prospects impressed the most this weekend.

Trey Phipps 2020 Booker T. Washington Point Guard (Tulsa Commit)

Phipps was the lead guy for Booker T. Washington with Bryce Thompson and Seth Hurd both out at ORU Team Camp. It was good to see Phipps running the offense at the Point. The feel for the game at the Point is coming slowly, but surely. I am convinced by the time Phipps gets to Tulsa he will be considered more of a Point Guard than a Shooting Guard. Running the offense Phipps was able to find his shot early getting on track from distance. When it comes to the best shooter in the state, Phipps is in the conversation. Tulsa is getting an absolute steal landing a commitment from Phipps earlier this spring.

Jordan Thompson 2020 Southmoore Point Guard

Thompson passed the ball well inside. He did a great job of on pick and roll situations of hitting the roll guy in good spots. In the system, Southmoore runs it appears everything will run through Thompson. He is a high volume shooter and on this particular day, he did not shoot it well. As for scoring the basketball Thompson got going using his quickness to get past defenders to the hoop. Over the spring we heard a lot of positives about Thompson, which appears to be merited for his overall performance at ORU Team Camp. He has a great chance to be the lead player for the Sabercats. Thompson is a guy small colleges should target in the 2020 Oklahoma Class.

Jaxon Wiggins 2020 Roland Wing

Wiggins has himself quite the day at ORU Team Camp. The height and length of Wiggins plus his athleticism allow him to impact the game at both ends of the floor. If opponents were not careful Wiggins blocked their shots chasing the ball down from behind the play. Wiggins was best on offense attacking the basket. He finished well inside against size inside. Although it appears Wiggins is headed to play baseball in college if he wants to play basketball in college he will have suitors. Not only did Wiggins score it well he also showed improvements in being able to distribute the ball to teammates. He is going to be one of the better players in Class 4A next year.

Trajan Turk 2020 Victory Christian Point Guard

The best glue guy at ORU Team Camp was Trajan Turk. He is a quick undersized Point Guard with great toughness. The first thing that caught my eye about his game was the way he got to the basket and was able to finish. Turk is a smart player coaches can trust with the ball in his hands to make the right choice.

Maceo Doctor 2019 Victory Christian Guard

Doctor showed solid athleticism on the Wing. He was best at knocking down shots from behind the arc to stretch the defense. Doctor also played tough defense making his opponent earn each point.

Brice Banks 2019 Booker T. Washington Point Guard

Banks is a scrappy Point Guard who will be key in Booker T. Washington’s chase for a Gold Ball. Booker T. Washington needs players to step up in role player spots. He plays really hard with great quickness off the dribble. He got to the basket and fought for possessions diving on the floor making the gritty plays for the Hornets.

Key’Shun Atkins 2019 Idabel Point Guard

Atkins is a really smooth passer at the Point. He was excellent at finding ways to fit the basketball in tight windows. The nice handle to go along with his good build adds to his ability to create. The jumper of Atkins needs some work, but he has a lot of tools that give him some upside.
