MIA Team : Carvers Bay Summer League
Prep Hoops takes a look at which players were in MIA (Missing in Action) this week from the Carvers Bay Summer League.
Romello Grant (2019) – Stall HS (pictured on front)
Grant was a WARRIOR on the glass last season for Stall HS. Grant a double-double guy for Head Coach Mike Breedlove was not in attendance for Day 1 of action here at the Carvers Bay Summer League. Grant averaged 24.7 ppg and 13 rebounds last season in the up-tempo style of play. Grant started off his career at Military Magnet before coming over to Stall HS last fall.
Prep Hoops first saw Grant a year ago playing with local based AAU team Charleston Strong.
Janaz Sumpter (2019) – Carvers Bay HS
Sumpter is a 2 sport athlete for the Bears and excels on the gridiron as the starting quarterback. Sumpter does work a summer job according to Head Coach Jeff Mezzatesta.
Ryan Dupree (2020) – Marlboro County HS (Bennettsville)
Dupree would a been a nice compliment to the play of Wesley Brown. Dupree wasn’t here for either day of action since he was taking in a summer job according to Head Coach Latroy Brace.
Darius Hough (2020) – Myrtle Beach HS
Hough enrolled at Myrtle Beach back in early March after leaving Gray Collegiate. Hough a guard plays with Team Charlotte 16U hasn’t been with the Seahawks all month long according to Head Coach Craig Martin.
Payton Lewis (2020) – ????
Lewis is really a mystery for people on the Grand Strand. Lewis a point guard played at St James HS the past few seasons was not with the Sharks here at the Carvers Bay Summer League. According to the coaching staff nobody really seems to know where Lewis is at currently. Prep Hoops saw Lewis play last month in the Prep Hoops Series 3 in Myrtle Beach with the Myrtle Beach Phenoms squad. Lewis prior to that was running with Manzer.
