Lindenwood Team Camp (Top Teams)
Prep Hoops Missouri spent the past weekend at the Lindenwood University Team Camp in St. Charles, Mo. Here is a look at some of the top teams at the camp:
McCluer North: The Stars were 5-1 on the weekend and won the Gold Division championship by defeating Wawautosa West (WI). The senior dominated Stars were led by the dynamic 2019 perimeter duo of 6’2″ A’Tavian Butler and 6’3″ Patrick Evans, who play above the rim. 5’8″ 2019 point guard Mekai Ray keeps the tempo moving while 6’2″ 2019 guard Steve Lee and 6’4″ 2020 forward Sylvan Mosley-Mull are athletic wing players.
Belleville West (IL): The Maroons enjoyed an excellent weekend as they defeated East St. Louis to win the overall camp title, despite not having 6’7″ star forward E.J. Liddell and 6’5″ power forward Keith Randolph in the lineup. They were led by 5’10” 2019 point guard Lawrence Brazil, who made all of the big shots during the weekend. 6’4″ 2019 forward Marcellus Romious stepped up big during the weekend, including the buzzer beater in the championship game. 6’5″ 2019 forward Will Shumpert, a transfer from CBC, added athleticism and size up front.
East St. Louis (IL): The Flyers continued their very productive month of June by going 5-1 and advancing to the championship game. Top 6’6″ 2019 prospect T.J. Hargrove was excellent throughout the camp with his big-time athleticism. The Flyers also got good play from 6’3″ 2020 wing LaShawn Johnson.
Cardinal Ritter: The Lions will continue to play fast and furious as they are keep with speed and quickness. They are led by 5’10” 2019 point guard Malek Davis, who can score and facilitate while having the knack of making big shots in the clutch. 6’3″ 2021 forward Mario Fleming is a matchup problem with his versatility and athleticism while 6’6″ 2020 forward Gary Clark, Jr. is an rapidly improving frontcourt prospect.
Christian O’Fallon: The Eagles participated in the first day of the team camp and won all three of their games. They have a young and strong nucleus, led by 6’4″ 2021 wing Chevy Brenson, who is a fine all-around player. 6’2″ 2021 guard Kalin Black is an athletic guard while 2022 point guard Raynard Mosby is an impressive newcomer who can shoot the 3-pointer. The Eagles will be a factor in Class 3 for awhile.
Alton (IL): The Redbirds are a talented and balanced unit with five players who can all put the ball in the basket. They are led by 6’3″ 2019 guard Malik Smith, who can score in many different ways, and 6’6″ 2019 guard, a talented performer who has developed into a Division I prospect. 6’3″ 2019 forward Josh Rivers can get buckets in the post and on the perimeter.
Jennings: The Warriors have appeared to restocked with talent after a Class 4 Final Four run last season. The new leader is versatile 6’3″ 2019 guard Elijah Hicks, who can get it done inside and outside. 2021 point guard Trevon Love will step in at guard and be an excellent three-year starter. Newcomer Michael Terry is a 6’0″ 2019 transfer guard from Arkansas. He can score. The Warriors also have a score of 6’4 to 6’5 athletes to throw at opposing teams.
St. Charles West: The Warriors had a very productive second day as they won three games, led by its talented backcourt of 6’3″ 2019 guard Trent Champagne and 5’10” 2019 guard Josh Anderson, who can really shoot the ball.
