Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several point guards who have raised their profile over the past year and have risen up the latest 2019 rankings.
Jarrett Hensley, 6’7, F, 2019, Leavenworth, MoKan Elite
Hensley has shot up our boards all the way into the top 10 with a terrific junior season and a strong spring with MoKan Elite. He is a long, rangy forward with plenty of bounce in his step and a frame that will likely add good size and muscle mass going forward. He has some skill with the ability to knock down jumpers and face up and attack the basket. He is a good shot blocker, a terrific finisher around the rim and a strong all-around player.
Kael Kordonowy, 6’7, F, 2019, Maize South, River City Hoops
Kordonowy has impressed this spring with his ability to block shots, rebound and play above the rim. He is a long 6’7 with a wide wing span and some hops which allows him to throw down dunks and defend the rim. His offensive game is emerging and he shows some old school post moves as well as the ability to face up and shoot the mid range.\
Devon Koehn, 6’7, F, 2019, Maize, NLHA
Koehn is a smooth athlete who runs the floor, plays above the rim and impacts the game at both ends of the floor. While the numbers may not show an athlete that puts up big numbers, he impacts the game with his all-around athleticism and ability to move off the ball and find openings in the opponents defense for easy opportunities.
Ethan Vlasic, 6’7, F, 2019, Blue Valley North, KC Spurs
Vlasic is all arms and legs, armed with a long, rangy build. He has improved tremendously over the past year, moving from a role player off the BVN bench last year to an impact player this spring for the KC Spurs. He has improved his strength and toughness and is a standout rebounder and post defender and can finish around the basket at the offensive. He brings activity and a willingness to defend the paint.
