Jones Still a Hot Commodity
A high upside prospect in Wisconsin’s class of 2019, Martin Luther small forward Xzavier Jones continues to be pursued by Division 1 programs. Averaging 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game next to two other Division 1 prospects, Jones holds four scholarship offers heading into the summer.
One of those programs appears to want Jones the most at the moment.
“Bradley has been the school recruiting me the hardest,” Jones told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “I took a visit last summer and they were telling me I would play right away and it would be a great fit for me. They always call and check in with me and see how I’m doing.”
Jones has other offers from UW-Green Bay, IUPUI, and Saint Louis. A mixture of high and mid-major interest is coming Jones’ way this spring, including DePaul, Creighton, Dayton, Boise State, Colorado State, Weber State, Miami (OH), Butler, Minnesota, UW-Milwaukee, Wright State, and Montana State.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound small forward said Colorado State could be closest to pulling the trigger.
“I talk to coach J.R. (J.R. Blount) and I’m looking to take a visit down there,” he said. “That’s probably going to be my next offer.”
Jones plans to attend camp at Butler this weekend. No other unofficial or official visits are currently set.
In terms to making a decision, the state’s fourth ranked junior is looking to play out his senior year.
“I really want to do it after the season,” he said.
