Intro: Ray’Sean Taylor (2020)
Collinsville 6’0” point guard Ray’Sean Taylor put on a show when we evaluated him late in the spring playing for Gateway Illinois 16U. The point guard pushes the tempo getting the ball up the floor in a hurry with his speed. Ability to win one on one off the dribble getting in the lane where he finishes well at the rim. Also has a nice looking jumper that he can hit both pulling up and from three. Crisp passer that has some creativity dishing to teammates. Needs to be monitored by low-major programs.
He spoke about his season at Collinsville.
“I think I had a good overall season. It didn’t end the way we wanted to, but I think in the future we can go way farther. We were mostly sophomores and one junior and two seniors.”
A lot of that young nucleus for his high school team plays alongside him with Gateway Illinois.
“It is going to help us a lot and get each other’s chemistry down. When we get to Collinsville we have been playing with each other.”
How would he break down his game?
“I am good off the bounce. I can finish at the rim. I am a good passer. I am a knock down shooter.”
One college has shown early interest.
“I have heard from Northern Illinois from my coach. That is it.”
