Intro: Caleb Zurliene (2020)
Breese Mater Dei 2020 guard Caleb Zurliene has size for position and should continue to grow. You have to love this kids ability to shoot it from three. Picture perfect shot fundamentally off the catch from deep. Big time perimeter shooter. A lot of helium heading into June with his high school team. Midwest D2’s need to take notice early on! One of the biggest stock risers from the end of the spring with his play for the Illinois Bears.
He is excited about getting back in the gym with his high school team at Mater Dei.
“We started getting in the gym with open gyms. It has been fun. Got drills done and scrimmaging. Getting legs back. Getting ready for next season.”
How was his sophomore season?
“It was good. I saw some time on varsity. We had a lot of seniors. I had a decent time.”
Zurliene spoke about his skill set.
“I feel like I can shoot the ball off the catch and dribble pretty well. I feel like I can guard and am pretty quick laterally. I can take my man off the dribble. Catch and shoot.”
This is definitely a southern Illinois prospect that could take a big leap in his game this upcoming season!
