IAABO Team Camp (Top Teams)
Prep Hoops Missouri spent Monday evening at Francis Howell Central High for the first day of the IAABO Team Camp. Here is a look at the top teams at the camp:
Trinity: The Titans have a loaded team that will make a lot of noise in Class 3 next season. They are led by 6’6″ 2019 guard JaRon Thames, who has added a nice 3-point shot to his growing offensive game. Holding down the middle is 6’10” 2020 center Ryan Kalkbrenner, who continues to improve. 2020 point guard Rashad McDaniel can score and distribute the basketball while 6’4′ 2020 Dajuan Young and 6’3′ 2020 Darion Smith are an athletic pair of forwards. There is plenty of athleticism and depth.
Fort Zumwalt South: The Bulldogs have a solid group back from their Class 5 district champion and state quarterfinals team last season. 6’4″ 2019 guard EJ Bellinger is a multi-talented offensive weapon while 6’5″ 2020 forward JJ Schwepker can knock down shots from 3-point range. Young 6’5″ 2021 post player Connor Bekebrede has improved as a offensive threat inside. Guard Jake Patton is an excellent glue guy with experience.
Troy: The Trojans will field another solid group with 6’6″ 2019 forward Jim King leading the way. King is a versatile post who can score in the paint and shoot jumpers. They also have a talented backcourt with 6’3″ 2020 Braden Nett and 6’1″ 2021 Brendan Deters, who saw a lot of varsity minutes last season.
Fort Zumwalt West: The Jaguars have a very talented a capable backcourt with 6’2″ 2019 Kalieb Bryant and 5’10” 2020 point guard D.J. Strong. Both are very good at attacking the basket and putting pressure on the defense. 6’6″ 2019 forward Les Robinson is an improving post while 6’5″ 2019 forward Brendan Douglas provides more size.
Parkway South: The Patriots will field a solid group in 2019 with an experienced set of guards in 6’3″ 2020 Adam Sommer and 6’0″ 2019 Josh Skidmore. 2019 forward Greg Rollins is undersized at 6’0″ but he rebounds and plays with excellent effort to produce. Providing the size is 6’5″ 2019 forward Mitchell Englebrecht.
