Hamilton Guard Adds First D1 Offer
Early June is a wonderful time for rising juniors to gain their first DI offer. After lunch Thursday exciting news splashed for Pharaoh Elite 16u guard Delvin White (PrepHoopsTN #19).
“Memphis Pharaoh Elite guard Delvin White has received his first D1 offer from UT Martin,” shared Team Pharaoh Elite 16u AAU Coach Chris Adams via direct message.
UT Martin has a habit of recruiting Memphis talent. Former Mr. Basketball Finalist Parrish Hewitt signed with the Skyhawks out of Douglass High. UTM junior-to-be Mike Fofana picked UT Martin as a Whitehaven senior forward.
Senior Fatodd Lewis played his high school days with Raleigh-Egypt.
Also, the junior college players UTM Head Coach Anthony Stewart typically recruits often hail from Memphis originally. Associate Head Coach Jermaine Johnson lured several Memphis-born junior college players to the Martin campus.
Role Reversal
With Hamilton High School, Delvin White played more of a four-man this past winter. Coach Adams, who coaches the Hamilton High girls team, sees Delvin as a point guard.
Coach Adams likes Delvin as a top 10 player statewide. With his mix of athleticism and size for the position of guard he has a strong case.
PrepHoopsTN featured Delvin and his AAU team last month.
With Team Pharaoh Elite Delvin is considered a team leader. He couples with Jesse Payne (Whitehaven) in the backcourt.
Currently Delvin lacks any other DI interest.
“Not yet,” said Coach Adams. “It’s coming.”
