Georgia’s National Recognition
Atlanta, GA – A few of Georiga’s prospects have been receiving a lot of recognition this spring and summer during the AAU circuit and top camps. Georgia’s own 2019 Isaac Okoro, 2020 Brandon Boston, 2020 Walker Kessler, 2020 Anthony Edwards, and 2020 Sharife Cooper have all been receiving the national spotlight more than any other Georgia prospect. The summer has yet to be over with the July live period approaching and these five guys will have a plethora of college coaches and scouts following them around and keeping in touch.
2020 wing/guard Brandon Boston – Norcorss High School
Brandon Boston Jr or otherwise known as BJ Boston, has had one of the best springs and summers regardless of class. Brandon has been running with Nike EYBL’s Athletes of Tomorrow on the Nike circuit where he is averaging 14.9 points per game. AOT is one of the top teams, not just on the Nike circuit, but in the entire country and Mr. Boston is one of the reasons why. He is coming off a great outing at the Pangos All American Camp in California, the Nike Elite 100 in St. Louis, and was just recently invited to tryout for the Team USA U17 in Colorado Springs, CO. Unfortunately Brandon did not make the first cut, but his game on the floor got him an invited to at least compete and tryout. With college coaches able to contact 2020 prospects now, Brandon has already heard from Duke, Florida, Alabama, Xavier, Georgia, Florida State, Texas, Georgia Tech, and more. He has also received offers from Pitt and Kansas in the last few days. He has been a stand out to the national scouts at all the camps he has attended so far. Brandon is one of the best off the ball scorers we are able to witness and has drawn major comparison to both Brandon Ingram and Jayson Tatum.
2020 center Walker Kessler – Woodward Academy
Walker Kessler recently showed out at the NBA Top 100 Camp, which only three other guys from the peach state were invited too. He is a 6’10 center who can really shoot the ball for a kid his size. He has great IQ and is also a rim protector who can post up on the offensive end. Walker is currently running with Game Elite (FL) on the 16U Adidas Gauntlet with other top guys in Brandon Harris and Corey Walker just to name a few. He already holds offers from Georiga, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Texas A&M, Florida, and Xavier. Kessler’s stock should contiune to rise during the July live period as he has caught a few national scouts eyes.
2019 forward Isaac Okoro – McEachern High School
Like the others, Isaac is having a fabulous spring and summer in his last year’s of AAU. Isaac has already been named one of the seven MVP candidates on the Nike EYBL circuit where he is averaging 17.7 points per game running with Athletes of Tomorrow. Isaac is a very strong and powerful forward sitting at 6’5/6’6. He is strong and one of the top defenders in his class. Okoro recently showed out at the Pangos All American camp in California earlier this month and also has made the first cut, which went from 30 to 18, at the USA U17 trials in Colorado. Isaac has earned offers this spring already from Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Oregon, and Cincinnati. He will be looking to lead his team once again to the Nike Peach Jam championship and looking to take home those peaches.
2020 point guard Sharife Cooper – McEachern High School
Sharife Cooper, regardless of class, has taken his spring and summer by storm by opening dozens of eyes. Cooper currently leads his AOT Nike EYBL squad in scoring at 20.9 points per game and leads the EYBL in assist at 6.7 per game. Cooper is one of the elite penetrators and facilitators regardless of class and has now developed a consistent jumper where he is now a scoring option and threat for the opposing team. Sharife, like his teammates Brandon Boston and Isaac Okoro, also showed out at the Pangos All American and Nike Elite 100 camp. His stock has sky rocketed since the end of his sophomore season at McEachern and is no longer just a regional prospect. Sharife already holds offers from schools like Auburn, Rutgers, Ole Miss, UCONN, Arizona State, USC, Tennessee, Seton Hall, and more.
2020 guard Anthony Edwards – Holy Spirit Prep
If anyone is having the Collin Sexton type summer, I believe Anthony Edwards is the closest to it. He currently is the 4th leading scorer in the UAA at 21.0 points per game. Edwards has been taking the national scene by storm, especially with his man power and explosive dunks. Like Collin Sexton, Edwards does not have a twitter. He recently led the NBA Top 100 Camp in scoring this past week at 17.6 points per game. He was also invited to participate and tryout for the USA U17 team but decided to attend the NBA Top 100 Camp instead in Charlottesville, VA. Anthony has drawn comparisons regarding his power and explosiveness to Zion Williamson, but what makes him different is his jump shot and his array of ways to score the basketball. He is certainly making a case for a top five spot in his class and his stock could rise even more by the end of the summer.
