ECI Team Camp Preview: Group D
This Thursday the ECI Team Camp will take place in Jacksonville, NC and will be one of the final events of the month for high school teams to get a tune up before they return back to their respective AAU programs. This event is very well known for the amount of talent it brings and we have seen repeatedly that many of the teams from this event make deep state runs or even win championships before the year is over. Let’s take a look at some of the teams that will be in the building and a few of the players that you should make sure to watch.
Group D:
Costal Christian (Last Season Record 23-7): They lose some older players and a nice amount of scoring with the graduation of Mike Parker. So they will look to give the responsibilities now to Senior Guard Kamron Greene as well as Forward Chazz Banks, both who have played a nice amount of minuets on the varsity level.
Greene Central: (Last Season Record 26-7): The rams had a very strong season last year, making it all the way to the State Championship before coming up short. Senior Forward/Center Imajae Dodd returns as well as Junior Wing Kentrell Suggs, both who can provide nice scoring for the team. Look for Forward Donte Johnson to play a nice role for the team at the forward spot with his scoring and rebounding.
First Flight (Last Season Record 16-10): If you haven’t got the chance to see this team play, you will definitely want to make sure you drop in as soon as possible as they are not only entertaining but productive. They let it fly from deep and feature two of the top shooters in the state in Juniors Dylan Blake & Jordan High.
South Central: (Last Season 27-1): Last season they put together an amazing year coming up short of a state Championship appearance with a loss in the regional championship. They return some fire power in UNC Commit Dayron Sharpe who will be beginning his Junior Year, while Shykeim Phillips who has Mid-Major offers will be in for his senior year to do damage. Senior Forward Luke Davis also a name that you should get very familiar with if you haven’t already as he has a chance to be a very good prospect for the next level.
