As the first half of the grassroots season comes to a close we wanted to touch base with programs directors and coaches to see how things went during April and May. These articles aim to provide updates on the teams as well as under the radar players or the kids who are on track to have a big July.
Team Name: MAC Basketball
This MAC 17U squad is a great mixture of different types of kids. Depending on whether Coach Joe Hunt want to play fast or slow down an execute he has the right mix of kids who can do both. It definitely is a team that naturally plays hard, plays tough and plays uptempo but depending on the game can change things up in seconds making them a handful for opposing teams.
Under the Radar Players:
• Demetrius Terry – 5’10 G – all around guard, gets himself going on the
defensive end, his scoring ability is catching up with his defense
• Luke Howes – 5’10 G – 2020 kid that is playing up on 17s, a kid that schools
should get on early, strong build and great feel for the game

July 11-15: Adidas Invitational – Indianapolis, IN
MAC Basketball is still working to finalize their July schedule.
Team Name: Club Ohio – 16U
The Club Ohio 16U roster is full of potential and the guys are starting to figure that out. The first half of the year had its ups and downs but the group feels they have grown and this only better prepares them for July. Coach David Johnson says that his guys are smart players and are really good students of the game. Look for things to pick up for this 16U squad in July.
• Owen Spencer – 6’9 F – beginning to understand how good he can be, high
level shot blocker, can run the floor, needs to add muscle weight
• Micah Thomas -6’4 F – super fast kid that can jump out of the gym, freak
atheltic kid that impacts the game at a high level, can guard 1-4
July 20-22: Super 6 Showcase – Atlanta, GA
Looking to finalize final weekend in July.
Team Name: TNBA Ohio 17U
A squad that has had its ups and downs this spring and a lot of it being due to injury. At full strength its a dangerous team that likes to get in the half court and break you down. Looking to rest up in June, Coach Jermaine Gay said his guys should be ready to go and hungry for the second half of season.
• Ryan Long – 6’7 F – do everything type guy, been working on his motor, can
switch out with guys
• DJ Harrel – 6’1 G – wants to play fast, super athletic kid that can finish with the

July 20-22: Nike Summer Championship – Columbus, OH
July 26-29: GRBA National Championship – Fort Wayne, IN
