Another Class of 2018 senior is off the board. This spring, Dane Agost suited up on the AAU circuit one last time for Nike Team Northwest. It was a fun time as always for the athletic 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from Clackamas and he enjoyed the competition and exposure. But when it came down to it, there was one school that had been recruiting him all along and he decided to pull the trigger on a commitment.
Agost has committed to and signed with Concordia in Portland. “I just thought it was the best fit for me with the options that I had,” Agost said. “I really like the coach there and they have a pretty good group. It’s close to home and that was a pretty big factor for me.”
Agost noted that Concordia had been recruiting him for some time and he’s gotten a feel for how the Cavs play. “I went to a couple of their games and they play pretty loose and free-flowing, almost position-less,” Agost said. “That’s what I like and I think that I’ll fit in there fine.”
With his college commitment taken care of and no more AAU games to be played, Agost is now going to buckle down and individually prepare for the rigors of high-level Division II basketball in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. “I definitely am working on getting stronger right now, getting my endurance up and all that,” Agost said. “I’m also working on my shot, extending my range as I’ll probably be a stretch four.”
Agost ranks as the #33 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2018 rankings.
