Class of 2019 Stockrisers
This is the time of year when prep basketball players can see their stock increase. They get to see their hard work pay off in AAU and team camp seasons. Many Michigan kids have turned the heads of fans and college coaches. Some of those players are listed below:
B Artis White (2019, PG, Canton, The Family)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #15
We’ve always known that he can play defense and handle the ball. Now we’ve seen him do it consistently against elite competition. B Artis White has put himself in the discussion among the best players in the state.
Darrell Belcher (2019, CG, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, UTS Elite)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #62
Belcher has absolutely exploded since AAU season began. He’s shown that he’s a good athlete who can hunt buckets. Belcher is a leader and the kind of teammate other kids want to play with.
Isaiah Lewis (2019, G, Wayne Memorial, Michigan Playmakers)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #26
Lewis has proven to be a sharpshooter who can catch fire at any time. He’s not limited by range whatsoever. Lewis has been a dynamic combo guard for the Playmakers and has turned heads at almost every event.
Myron Gardner (2019, F, Detroit Loyola, REACH)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #6
Gardner is leaving no doubt this spring. He may have even put his name in the mix for Mr. Basketball next season. Gardner seems to get more athletic with age and has become an excellent finisher and rebounder.
Dylan Jergens (2019, PG, Howardsville Christian, Strictly Skills)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #64
Jergens simply exploded this spring. Not only were his scoring numbers off the charts, but he shot the ball at a high percentage as well. Jergens is getting serious looks from college coaches as high as the Division 2 level.
DeSean Munson (2019, F, Skyline, 1Nation)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #63
Munson has really taken off since late in the high school season. He’s an athletic forward who loves to get out in transition. Munson has shown that he’s an excellent defender and rim protector.
Trevion Puriefoy (2019, SG, Detroit King, Michigan Playmakers)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #102
102 just seems really low after seeing Puriefoy play this spring. He’s an excellent defender and gets to the rim on offense. Puriefoy is great in the open floor after forcing a turnover.
Ryan Wade (2019, SG, Skyline, 1Nation)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #14
Wade has been torching the nets this spring and summer. He’s shown the ability to shoot off the dribble and off a screen. He’s a terrific defender who uses quick feet and long arms to stifle the offense.
Rocket Watts (2019, CG, Old Redford, The Family)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #2
How do you increase your stock when you’rethe number 2 ranked recruit in the state? Have arguably the best spring of any player in the country. Watts is a bucket getter who can score from anywhere on the floor.
Nate Talbot (2019, F/C, Lake Orion, Michigan Mustangs)
Prep Hoops Ranking: #81
Talbot has, in the past, been considered a big with loads of potential. This spring, we’ve seen him blossom as a post player and defender. So much so that he recently received his first D1 offer from Indiana State.
