Capitol Hoops Summer League 6/8 Notebook

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Prep Hoops was back in the gym on Friday at the Capitol Hoops Summer League, where several players stood out. Here we drop our notebook from the day, which includes evaluations on many of the new prospects we saw.

6’3 SF Malcolm Alexander | Bullis | Class of 2020

Skilled wing that can come off a screen and knock consistently down shots from the catch. Moves well without the ball, and has three point range.

6’7 C CJ Amsellem | Bullis | Class of 2019

Active big that runs the floor. Moves bodies inside. Seals well. Can stretch the floor, especially from the corner.

6’5 SF Omari Green | DC Evolution | Class of 2019

Versatile wing who defends multiple positions. Mobile. Runs the floor. Likes to get out in transition. Athletic finisher. Has good length. Anticipates passing lanes well.

5’9 PG Cole Hanin | Bullis | Class of 2021

Close to a knock down three point shooter. Skilled and efficient with the ball. Pushes the ball, defends, and and communicates. Sees the floor. Involves teammates. Delivers accurate and timely passes.

6’1 SG Jesiah Matthews | Bullis | Class of 2019

Lefty. Crafty with the ball. Can shoot the 3 off the bounce and from the catch. Active defensively.  

#1 5’10 PG Elijah Modeste | Long Reach | Class of 2019

Quick, skilled lead guard. Crafty with the ball. Sees the floor. Anticipates the passing lanes well. Pesky on ball defender. Plays with a high motor.

6’1 PG Erik Reynolds | Bullis | Class of 2021

Long and skilled guard who can do a bit of everything on the floor. Crafty finisher. Finishes with both hands. Can finish through contact. Has a nice middle game. Defends well.

6’3 PG Nendah Tarke | Bullis | Class of 2019

Long, athletic and versatile guard with a high motor and high IQ. Lefty. Still working on his handle and perimeter shot. Robustly built and strong. Finishes through contact. Gets out in transition. Rebounds.
