Capitol Hoops Summer League 6/11 Notebook
HYATTSVILLE, MD — Prep Hoops was back in the gym at DeMatha for all four games on Monday at the Capitol Hoops Summer League, where several new players stood out. Here we recap the day by taking closer look at some of those players.
6’3 SF Cameron Etris | St. John’s | Class of 2019
Lefty. Always moving without the ball. Stays shot ready. Communicates on defense. Sees his man and the ball.
5’9 PG Guy Fauntleroy | St. John’s | Class of 2021
Quick and pesky on ball defender. Plays with a very high motor. Rebounds. Good finisher in traffic. Likes to attack in transition. Crafty with the ball.
6’7 PF Oliver Nkamhoua | Richard Montgomery | Class of 2021
Mobile big with long arms. Solid athlete with good hands. Can guard on the perimeter. Blocks shots. Rebounds out of his area. Finishes above the rim.
6’3 SG Josh Paige | St. John’s | Class of 2022
Spaces the floor well. Has nice touch from the perimeter. Likes the one and two dribble mid-range pull-up jumper.
6’6 PF Omari Salvi | Bullis | Class of 2020
Long lanky and mobile forward. Plays bigger than his listedheight. Runs the floor. Blocks shots. Rebounds. Can knock down the corner 3 if left open.
6’5 PF Cameron Tweedy | Westlake | Class of 2020
Has long arms and a high motor. Rebounds out of his area. Can put it on the floor and push in transition. Fundamentally sound. Athletic. Runs the floor.
6’5 SF Christian Watson | St. John’s | Class of 2022
Super long and lanky. Can guard a variety of different positions. Blocks shots. Moves well without the ball. Plays aggressively. Has the ability to slash to the basket off the dribble. Gets to the foul line. Can rebound and push in transition. Sees the floor.
