Camp of Champs Standouts (Day 1)
Greg Nibbert, the former Presbyterian College Head Coach, used to run one of the top team camps in the region while he was at the Clinton, South Carolina school. Now he has retired from coaching and is running a team camp at Upward Stars Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Here is a look at some of the top players from the event held over the past two days.
2019’s
Ishan White playing very well in the second game here at Upward Stars Center. Long, wide shoulders, runs floor well, big hands, when he wants to not many can guard him, saw him take it end to end and finish, quick second jump, soft hands, blocks shots. Tells me after Oklahoma State offer a few weeks ago, Charleston Southern is the latest.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville (SC) senior guard Rashamel Butler-shooter, scorer, good handle, attacks, plays hard, finisher, physical, strong,
Impressed with the two-way play of Bradley Foulks for Lexington HS (SC). Long, defends, can shoot it from anywhere on the floor. Good vision in fast break or half-court.
Luke Chism (Dawson County)-Attacks every play, good handle, stays under control, finishes a lot; good size at 6’5, rebounds, pushes the ball, high basketball IQ, good vision in the open floor. Does a good job of getting into the lane.
Eric Washington (Mauldin)-good shot, talks, good handle for a big, long arms, alters shots, soft touch around rim. Can push the break off the rebound, good outlet passer. Has to be a D2 prospect. 3.6 GPA.
Trevur Smalls– (Berkeley) (Team TMP)-wingspan, length, good defender, athletic, does a good job of moving without the ball. SC State and NC A&T offers.
2020’s
Jasper Gibson (Dawson County)-quick, first step; good handle; very quick laterally, smart, recently offered by North Georgia.
2021’s
Jacobi Wright with a nice showing with his new Fort Mill (SC) team. 2021 guard can fill it up. Quick with a high motor.
JD Young (Mauldin)- Long, smooth game, let’s it come to him, good instincts, scored 6 points in 20 seconds, good passer, young one to keep an eye on.
AJ Jackson (Mauldin)-quick, good handle, plays hard, attacks paint.
Jameson Tucker (Mauldin)-bouncy, very athletic, quick first step, Smart, understands the game.
