The Panthers bring back a talented roster, and put up a good fight in the Bronze-level playoffs at the team camp.
Here are four players to watch for Menual moving forward:
- Dereck Pyle
Pyle is a good lead guard, able to get into the lane efficiently. Throughout the camp playoffs, he seemed to be primarily looking to score on lay ups or draw fouls, but he also made sure to try and get his teammates involved, primarily on kick out passes to open shooters.
- Dylan Lerch
The rising senior is a solid rebounder, able to use his height and long arms to pull down contested boards. He is quick enough to utilize that size on the defensive end as well, collecting steals on the perimeter and blocks down low. He is also able to hit jumpers at a decent clip from the perimeter.
- Carlos Fuentes
Fuentes makes his presence felt on the low block, as Menual’s biggest player on the floor. He is not huge in stature or ultra-muscular, but gets himself in good positions to make his height and length count, usually by simply shooting over defenders. He does now allow many easy baskets at the rim, and pulls down rebounds on both ends.
- Luis Alvorado
A quality wind defender, Alvorado gets his body into that of his opponents, competing all throughout that end of the floor. His steals allow for Menual to run out in transition for quick baskets. He also make himself useful on offense by setting tough screens and hitting open jumpers when the opportunity arises.
