Alex Timmerman to Bucknell
Crystal Lake 2019 center Alex Timmerman has transformed his body and game over the last year and it has resulted in a D1 commitment. Tuesday morning the big man announced he is headed to Bucknell. He told PHI why they were his choice.
“Bucknell just felt right when I got on campus a couple weeks ago. I love everything about it including the coaches, the facilities, the campus, the academics, the guys, and their style of play. I just could see myself fitting in both in basketball and academics and I’m excited for the next step.”
Timmerman is a big man from Crystal Lake that has slimmed down and is in the best shape of his career. His mobility has improved which has allowed him to be a more efficient low post player. Timmerman has a soft touch around the hoop especially with his right handed hook shot. Can play as a finisher in the high/low game or as a screen and roller in the pick/roll. He has good hands on the interior. Solid rebounder getting put backs.
He is the #3 center in the latest 2019 rankings and #44 overall prospect. Timmerman runs with Fundamental U on the travel team circuit.
