Adidas MDC: 2019 Names To Know
D’Antaye Page (W- GA Elite Ballers)- Page has jumped onto the travel scene these past two weeks with the Ballers. Joining the team at Bob Gibbons, his presence has been felt immediately. After willing the team to victory with 37 points against D-Favors, Page followed it up with 32 points against a very good EAB team. Page attacks the basket relentlessly and welcomes physical play inside. He has the athleticism to challenge taller opponents at the basket and excels at contorting his body once in the air to finish. Page also had some nice moments shooting the ball from the outside, further adding to his value.
Lance Terry (SG- Game Elite)- On a team with Anthony Edwards and Chase Hunter, Terry may not get as many opportunities as he would on other teams. However, he has been extremely efficient and effective with this group. This past weekend, before getting hurt, Terry was lights out from 3-point land, especially from the corners. He also appears to be more explosive, rising up for impressive dunks frequently. Terry makes an impact on defense because of his effort and length, keeps things simple on offense, and just brings a worker’s mentality.
Tyrel Morgan (W- Infinite Skillz)- Morgan is getting to show what he is really made of this spring with ISBC. He played his role on Langston Hughes with Landers Nolley leading, but now all of his skills are on display. Morgan is a strong lefty who plays with a great motor and can guard almost anyone. He gets to the basket well and really knows how to extend once inside, making things easy for him. What really impressed me this weekend was his mid-range shooting. Morgan connected numerous times from the 15 foot area, off both the catch and dribble. I’m excited to see him and the Langston Hughes squad at Georgia Tech this weekend.
Kalen Williams (CG- Team Power)– No one brought more energy and intensity than Williams did when Team Power matched up with the Atlanta Celtics. He made so much happen off the dribble in the half court, penetrating and probing in the paint until something opened up. Williams is a crafty player with a variety of finishes inside and is a good defender as well. He can be a dangerous outside shooter when he gets hot and will never shy away from talking and competition. Williams is a lot of fun to watch.
Ian Hardy (W- AC Georgia)- There may not be tons of flash or sexiness to Hardy’s game, but his production at Lakepoint was undeniable. Hardy just stays around the ball, remains active, and gets himself easy opportunities to contribute. He is a great offensive rebounder with solid instincts on the glass and will go through bodies to secure boards. Hardy slashes well from the wing and has a nice lefty touch once in the lane. I expect that he and Leslie Nkereuwem will impress a lot of people in June for Discovery.
