2021 Top Prospects : Coker Team Camp
Prep Hoops took in both days of action at the Coker College Team Camp in Hartsville, SC this past weekend. Lets take a look at some of the top 2021 performers from the camp. This past week Prep Hoops published its 2021 Palmetto State Rankings this year.
DaVeon Thomas – Lee Central HS (Bishopville)
Thomas doesn’t have much support around him this season with the departure of 11 seniors off last years Stallions team. Thomas sees the floor very well and can really push the ball well. The question this season who will Thomas be able to hand the ball off to score it.
RJ Felton – North Augusta HS (pictured on front – wearing #14)
Felton averaged 13 ppg last season for the Yellow Jackets. Felton a attacking guard really excels in the up-tempo style of playing getting out in transition. Felton has a great frame for a young age also excels on the football field. Felton plays AAU with Team United EYBL on the Nike Circuit. Felton is ranked #8 in the Palmetto State 2021 Class.
Marshall Myers – Cheraw HS
Myers played a little hesitant this past weekend for the Braves at times. Myers has a new Head Coach Rob Mammes this season for the Braves. Myers checks in at #10 in the Palmetto State 2021 Class.
Cesare Edwards – Hartsville HS
Edwards really showed some glimpses this weekend at times for the Red Foxes. Edwards 6’7 likes to play finesse and face-up on the perimeter. Edwards has a sweet stroke outside the 3 point line but needs to play more aggressive and tougher times on the court. Edwards is ranked #15 in the Palmetto State Class. Edwards will look for extended playing time this coming season for Red Foxes Head Coach Yusuf English.
Caninon Norris – Conway Christian (Conway)
Norris is more of a one trick pony for Head Coach GT Wagers. Norris can shoot the ball from behind the arch if he has time to set his feet. Norris helped the Eagles advance to the SCISA 1A State Tourney last year for the first time in school history.
Jonathan Gordon – Cheraw HS
Gordon didn’t play spring basketball since he plays baseball for the Braves. Gordon a left-handed pitcher finished the season at (7-1) 0.91 ERA with 3 saves. Gordon just roams the paint for the Braves and does all the little things.
Ojay White – Andrew Jackson HS (Kershaw)
White is one tough kid on the floor that only plays the game one way HARD. White is a great on the ball defender that really gets into the opponent.
Jordan Wilburn – North Augusta HS (pictured on front – wearing #11)
Wilburn we first saw back at the Ice Breaker in North Augusta, SC back in early April 2018. Wilburn tends to get a bit selfish at times with the ball. Wilburn likes to have the ball in his hands when ever possible. Wilburn will compliment the other Yellow Jackets players this season and on a given night took take high scoring honors.
Omazeon “Dude” Tinsley and Janyle Pittman – Lancaster HS
This duo for the Bruins will look to lead Lancaster HS into the future. Tinsley a point guard and Pittman a off guard will see plenty of playing time in the years to come. Prep Hoops saw this duo perform last week at Newberry College Team Camp.
