Breakdown: The class of power forwards is an interesting one. There are four players in our overall Top 10 that are in this group with two others just outside of that with a legit chance of getting in. At the top, our new #1 prospect is Caleb Furst. He’s done nothing but solidify his position and is being joined by a host of DI level talent with guys like D.J. Hughes, Blake Sisley, and Kyle Ross.
Those two players vying to get into the Top 10 are Trey Kaufman and Langdon Hatton. Hatton started off slow this Spring but the last few viewings we had he looked not only better and more comfortable but also taller and more filled out. He could be starting down that path of rapid development. Kaufman is a guy that has all the makings of a player to rise to a Top 5 type guy. He’s still raw but having seen him in three different settings, there is some comfort on our side in just how good he can become.
Overall, the depth isn’t massive but there are some solid options to start with but most are actually geared towards the DI level than we have had in past years. I think we will see guys continue to get better and it will be more about finding those players that will fill in the depth at the bottom end of the rankings which is a problem that is good to have.
