16U Second Team All Grassroots (Spring Edition)
Based on performance and recruiting stock rising, the following five players have distinguished themselves as Second Team All Grassroots for the spring.
G – Josiah Fulcher (2020), 6’2”, All Ohio Red / Pickerington Central
G – Ethyn Kuhns (2020), 6’4”, Nova (Alleyne) / Bloom Carroll
F – Luka Eller (2020), 6’8”, C2K Elite / Lake Catholic
F/C – Hayden Stone (2020), 6’8”, Nova (Alleyne) / Carey
C – Mo Njie (2020), 6’8”, C2K Elite / Centerville
– Fulcher provides consistency on both ends of the floor as Red’s best off-ball guard. He’s an athletic two-way player who plays with high level instincts away from the ball. Fulcher is also their most confident spot-up shooter, an area where he’s showing more consistency.
– Kuhns exploded onto the scene this spring with Nova (Alleyne), Ohio’s no. 5 team. The Central Ohio prospect has a rare combination of strong frame, efficient shot creating ability, and shooting. He hasn’t received any offers this spring, but Kuhns has surely placed his name on recruiting boards across the state.
– Eller scores the ball from inside or out. The stretch forward out of Lake Catholic is more confident in the post this season. And it’s for good reason, as Eller is strong and skilled enough to turn over either shoulder through contact. Eller has also maintained his long-distance shooting ability while contributing as a defensive rebounder.
– Stone has transitioned from small town legend to statewide recruit in a few short months on the AAU circuit. He’s played an integral role on a strong Nova team by anchoring the defense and making plays out of the post. Underrated passer who finishes with power. Although we expect his jumper to continue improving, Stone is pretty tough to stop as a low post scorer. Does a little bit of everything on defense.
– Njie hardly played for Centerville this past season, yet he’s been a dominate force as a rim protector with a remarkable wingspan. He forces opposing slashers to think twice once they get into the paint. Although he doesn’t create his own shot very often, Njie’s offensive footwork is promising.
